Research & Career Interests:
Jerry is a 4th year Psychology, B.A. major with a minor in Japanese Studies. He participates in multiple studies dealing with cognitive functions including inhibitory control and memory in both college students and older adults. He hopes to study how cognition could be linked to emotional and social well-being in adolescents in graduate school.

Hobbies:
In his free time, he’s an avid enjoyer of Japanese media including anime and manga. Some recent titles of interest are Jujutsu Kaisen, Eighty Six, and Hirayasumi.

She is currently researching trans-cranial direct current stimulation in older adults alongside post-doctoral scholar Dr. Jacky Au. Her research interests include integration of learning outcomes on various platforms and interfaces.

In her free time, Lauryn enjoys reading science fiction and self-development, playing board games with friends, listening to music on her record player, and bullet journalling.

Outside of being a student and a research assistant, she is an avid curry enthusiast. Her dream is to one day travel around the world and try many cultural variations of curry. She also enjoys going to musical performances, walking in nature, and having new experiences.

Ryan Mikeala Nguyen is a 4th year Chemistry student. Since joining the Working Memory and Plasticity lab in summer 2019, she acts as an undergraduate researcher who studies how media multitasking, social media usage, and implementation of strategies can impact working memory.

Outside of the lab, Ryan writes for UCI’s campus newspaper, the New University.
